I went to my doctors appointment today for my 6 week checkup and got the answer I was expecting... all the test results came back perfectly normal so they have no idea what happened to my little boy. My doctor said that the low amount of amniotic fluid could signify that the placenta was getting old faster than normal and it did look a bit calcified to her when she examined it after I gave birth so maybe that was it, but we'll never know. He was also smaller than Marrah so she thought he might have been having trouble for a bit beforehand but it's hard to tell... I wish there was a better answer and something to watch for next time but there isn't... I prepared myself for no answer just in case... I wasn't too devastated to find that out... it sucks but we can't go back and change anything... it just sucks and life goes on.
She gave us the go ahead to try again and gave me a prescription for some extra folic acid pills to take. She said that she could still deliver my next baby which was nice to hear but we might do a consult with another obstetrician later on in the pregnancy, do some ultrasounds later on as well and then they would definitely induce me at 38 weeks. My delivery with Kaelen went very quickly since they started the induction at 11am and I had given birth by 3:24pm so at least we know my body takes to it well. I might not be able to have the natural birth I've always wanted but I'm okay with that now. As long as I have a healthy living baby in the end, I don't care what happens in labour... If I need the epidural again, I'll get it...
So that was today... we will see what the new year brings for us. I'm hoping for a healthy happy little sister or brother for Kaelen and Marrah so please send us lots of sticky, healthy baby vibes. Our family needs a rainbow...
I miss you baby boy... Sending you all my love and kisses. Love, Mommy

I hope you get your wish in 2010. Don't fret if it doesn't happen immediately though, your body needs time to heal. Wishing Kaelen was there with you, he is a beautiful baby. Hugs
